Kehelmala is a creative studio seeking to inspire and sustain audiences through impactful storytelling that pushes past boundaries, embraces diversity, and provokes thought. Since mid-2024, Kehelmala has acquired a cult following for its original short films released weekly on social media platforms. Many of these comment on important social issues, sparking discussion, courting controversy, and contributing to public discourse.

Kehelmala’s founder & CEO Nishantha de Silva and its Story Master Rajitha Hettiarachchi will represent the studio at the festival. Nishantha has experience in consulting, development, government, banking, and non-profits, and holds Masters’ degrees from Oxford and Cambridge. Rajitha is a writer, Attorney-at-Law, an ArtsThink South Asia fellow, and a graduate of Sri Jayawardenepura University. Both are accomplished thespians, and joint recipients of awards for Best Play, Best Direction and Best Script at Sri Lanka’s State Drama Festival.
